Temporary traffic lights being installed in relation to the ongoing construction at 196-222 King’s Road. Thames Water are working on the water supply from Monday 18 February 2019, for up to two weeks. Wates will ensure that the works take as short a time as possible, so it may take less time than this.

A temporary three-way traffic light system will be put in place outside 200-204 King’s Road, near Waitrose, and also on the junction of Chelsea Manor Street with King’s Road. The sequencing of traffic lights will be automatically controlled; there are measures in place to monitor pedestrian and vehicle movements, so that the sequence of the lights reflect traffic movements. Although we will not have direct control of this sequencing, our contractors, Wates, will be monitoring these lights, to check that the automated system is working well, and there are no undue delays.

Wates are also the main point of contact for the utility company for any issues arising. We do not anticipate pedestrian access to be affected by these works and pavement crossings across King’s Road will remain open at its current location.
